An evening performance with renowned translator of Persian poetry Dick Davis; Behrooz Alavi, ney (reed flute); and Jessika Kenney, vocalist and composer.
Persian lyric poet Hafez (1310-1390) is celebrated worldwide for his verses expressing love, spirituality and protest. To explore his work as a foundation of classical Persian music, the performers will share recitation of a few poems in Persian and English, and in song form.
